Codes of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNGER JUNIORS

  1. Play for the fun of it, not just to please your parents or your coach.

  2. Always play to the laws of the game and even more importantly to the spirit.

  3. Always accept the umpires' decisions without question and never show dissent either on the field of play or off it.

  4. Always control your temper and don't engage in cheating, intimidation, sledging or any acts of gamesmanship such as over-appealing or over-applauding.

  5. Remember that cricket is a team game and work equally hard for your teammates and yourself. Don't try to do everything yourself and encourage and support your fellows, particularly your captain, in all their efforts.

  6. Always be sporting and respect the opposition. Applaud their good play sincerely, compliment them on it, and chat with them afterwards.

  7. Remember that behaviour off the field is as important as behaviour on. Always be polite and friendly and make a point of thanking those involved in making the game possible: the umpires and scorers, the groundsman, those responsible for transport, and your manager and coach. Leave the changing rooms as tidy as you found them (or tidier!).

  8. Always co-operate with your team manager or coach. Treat them with respect, listen hard and follow their guidelines and rules. Don't let them down at the last minute and take your practices as seriously as matches.

  9. Be loyal to your school and your club. Try to help actively and willingly in all the chores connected with the game. Remember that in term time your first commitment is to your school but your club puts a lot of time and money into giving you opportunities and deserves your support over the years, not just a glory season.

  10. Remember that you depend heavily on your parents' help and support and behave accordingly. Be helpful at home and make sure you keep up with all your commitments, such as homework.

CODES OF CODUCT ESPECIALLY FOR ARCC SENIOR  JUNIORS

1. Remember it is an honour to represent your Club and always regard it as such.

2. You have a responsibility to set an example in all the games that you play, in your behaviour and in respecting the opposition, the officials and above all the spirit of the game.

3. For matches keep to high standards in dress both for arrival and departure and on the field of play (clean whites, boots, pads, etc.). Do not wear inappropriate caps.

4. Always accept decisions on the field of play in a sporting manner without any show of dissent and don't question them off it, either whilst spectating or afterwards. Keep your emotions for the privacy of the changing rooms.

5. Avoid foul or abusive language and any intimidation, deliberate distraction, sledging or other acts of gamesmanship, including over-applauding your own players. Respect the opposition and applaud their good play sincerely.

6.When off the field pay proper attention to the game in hand rather than ignoring it. Seek your team manager's permission before going to the nets, going to sit with your family, walking around the ground etc. Do not play your own little game somewhere around the field.

Always make a point of being polite and thanking everyone who has assisted with making a game possible: the umpires and scorers, the groundsman, your team managers and coaches, parents who have transported and supported you etc.

8.Whilst under the jurisdiction of team officials, you must not smoke, drink alcohol or use any other artificial stimulant or harmful or illegal substances.

9.At all times and particularly on tour or at a tournament, you must co-operate fully with and abide by the rules and guidelines laid down by your team manager, who you must accept is acting 'in loco parentis'.
