Avoid impolite or unsporting behaviour yourself.
Take responsibility for your parents and supporters. Have a quiet word with those whose behaviour at a match is not a good example to their offspring. Engage their help and support actively whilst remaining in charge yourself.
Remember that all cricket depends on mutual support and goodwill. Encourage contacts between school and club. Remember that school has first call in term-time but clubs put a lot of time and money into giving young cricketers good opportunities. Don't try to poach good players from other sides simply to go medal hunting. Never put a child in the middle of a conflict. Communicate!
Develop an appropriate working relationship with performers, based on mutual trust and respect.
Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part
Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play)
Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance
Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club
Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover
Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward
Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibitive substances
